Serge Diserens

Villeneuve (Chablais)

Serge Diserens is a man in a hurry. While most kids of his age are indulging in the carefree pleasures of childhood, lil’ Serge, 9 years old, is already working on his first wine making! The epiphany of a winemaker who has chosen to work with his head, rather than with his muscles.

It is indeed the thirst for understanding and passion that guide this hyperactive and erudite winemaker based at the Domaine des Moines in Villeneuve, in the Chablais Vaudois. He cultivates 5 hectares of vines there, as well as a few others in Valais, the land of his Syrah, which was awarded the honorary title of “best Syrah in the world” in 2016!

Trained at the Changins School of Viticulture and Oenology, where he now teaches, Serge then took over the family estate and its traditions, which he respects and perpetuates. However, he never misses an opportunity to satisfy his appetite and to experiment more and more, which makes him a character definitely apart.

On the one hand, he is a precursor for his commitment to organic farming in the Villeneuve vineyards, and on the other hand, he is a multi-awarded winemaker, notably a master of maturing in terracotta amphorae. It was only natural that Serge, titillated by his perfectionism and boundless curiosity, should become the first winemaker in the area to produce natural wine vintages.

The result is wines that are remarkable for their delicacy and balance. Straightforward and precise in nature, they are also a testament to Serge’s status as an outstanding winemaker. We are very proud to offer these confidential cuvées, produced in extremely limited quantities.
